Key deadlines

So, what are the key deadlines you need to know about? Let’s take a look:

  • March 2, 2026: Last day to make an RRSP contribution deductible against your 2025 tax return.

  • April 30, 2026: Last day to file your personal tax return if you don’t have self-employment income

  • June 15, 2026: Last day to file your 2025 personal tax return if you have self-employment income (or are the spouse of someone who does).

  • June 30, 2026: Last day to file a corporate tax return if your corporation has a December 31 year-end.

Personal tax deadlines

Filing Deadline:

  • April 30, 2026: For most individuals.
  • June 15, 2026: If you (or your spouse) have self-employment income.

Tax Payment Deadlines:

  • April 30, 2026: Taxes owed must be paid by this date to avoid interest, regardless of your filing deadline.

HST/GST filing and payment deadlines

Your deadlines depend on your filing frequency:

  • Monthly: One month after the reporting period.

  • Quarterly: One month after quarter-end.

  • Annual (non–self-employed): March 31, 2026 (if your year-end is December 31, 2025).

  • Annual (self-employed): Same as your personal tax filing deadline (June 15, 2026), but payment is due April 30, 2026.

Corporate tax deadlines

Filing Deadline

  • 6 months after year-end.

    • Example: For Dec 31, 2025 year-end  mean you need to file by June 30, 2026.

  • 3 months after year-end if eligible for the small business deduction (March 31, 2026 for Dec 31 year-end).

  • March 2, 2026: Deadline for employers to issue T4 slips and for financial institutions to issue T5 slips.
